The future of tech and where it is heading is a popular topic of conversation; one that is equally as scary as it is exciting. Technology is advancing at breakneck speed and will only continue to accelerate.

In my lifetime alone, since the mid-’90s, we have seen the development in technology spanning from VCRs, Tamagotchis and Walkmans to smartphones, VR and chatbots. It’s no wonder that most of our clients are wondering what the future of tech has in store for their businesses. When you research the number of jobs lost to automation or the potential boost to global GDP from AI the figures are staggering.

When I started writing this blog, I wondered what AI could do in place of my role at JLA, so I asked Chat-GPT to write me an article on speakers from JLA who would fit a brief on future tech and AI. Whilst I was impressed with the response, it was obvious that it was sourced from the limited data that is available to the AI. The response lacked social intelligence, industry experience and reinforced the importance of account managers impartially advising their clients; this is facilitated by years of building relationships and connections.

At the moment I feel that my position at JLA is unthreatened by Chat-GPT; however, I cannot speak for the future as it is certainly not my expertise. Although, I can highly recommend the below conference speakers who are masters in this subject:

Nina Schick

Nina is a complete expert in this field. She is inundated with requests to come and speak about Generative AI; and presents an impressive and fascinating background working alongside major organisations and global leaders including Joe Biden, Emmanuel Macron, and former Nato Secretary General Anders Fogh Rasmussen. Whenever she comes into the office or I hear Nina speak I am completely gripped.

Sophie Hackford

Sophie is a futurist, technologist, researcher and anthropologist. She challenges organisations to question their existing processes and offers insight into data and AI, robotics, digital twins and Web3 to name a few. Her speeches are fascinating and thought-provoking but also slightly frightening!
