My love for dance began at the age of seven and it still burns as brightly as ever! At 14 I was awarded a scholarship to train in New York after being crowned Junior Miss Dance, Teen Miss Dance, and Miss Dance of America Chapter 28. It was then that I realised my future was shaping itself to accomplish my dream of becoming a professional dancer and performer. After my first job dancing and singing on cruise ships, in 2001 I decided to move to LA to find my way into the world of film and television.
We were in a whirlwind of pop mania, touring, performing and working on new music. We went on to sell 15 million albums and 40 million singles worldwide and became one of the biggest-selling girl groups of all time! This level of success, for a little country girl from Missouri was beyond my wildest dreams.
In 2010 I was approached to become a judge on the hit Sky1 show Got to Dance alongside Adam Garcia and Ashley Banjo. It was amazing to be able to share all of the expertise and knowledge I’d built up over the years to educate and inspire the next generation of dancers.
Aside from TV opportunities one of the things I am most passionate about is encouraging young people to express themselves through dance. In 2016 I teamed up with The Youth Sport Trust who are an independent charity devoted to changing young people’s lives through sport. Together with the YST we developed a dance-based workshop which supported wellness and fitness through dance. What I loved most was how dance united everyone. Even the kids that had challenges or didn’t normally feel welcome in a sports lead class, dance did just that! I continue my love of inspiring and helping the next generation with my very own dance academy here in Surrey.
Dance allows the opportunity to challenge people to make a difference in their own lives. The first big step for our academy is a showcase at Christmas where we are asking people to participate in a local food drive to help those less fortunate. We will endeavour to find ways we can make a difference.
Most people probably don’t know that I DJ as it has always come secondary to being a Pussycat Doll, Dancer, Actress, and TV Personality but I learnt my skills whilst living in New York in 2014, at Run DMC’s Scratch Academy and ever since have been playing nightclubs and festivals throughout the UK and Europe. It has always been my dream to create the bigger show using all my experiences over the years to incorporate dance, costumes, lights, and screens to create the fully immersive dance experience! Well, the time has come… and it feels absolutely amazing getting to do just that with the KW DJ SHOW!
Now that the LIVE industry is finally coming back after COVID it’s time to take to the stage with all the things I love the most. This show is the perfect party starter or finisher! I’m so excited about what’s to come and can’t wait to bring the show to more events throughout the remainder of 2022 and into 2023… are you ready!? Let’s GO!
