Biography

Peter Komolafe is a financial expert, financial coach, and TV personality whose personal journey is the driving force behind his passion for helping people create financial security through positive financial habits.

He was brought up by foster parents and at eight years old went to Nigeria for a two-week holiday that turned into ten years. He returned to his foster parents' doorstep unannounced at eighteen with the dream to become a surgeon but could not pursue his ambition for funding reasons. He subsequently found himself sleeping on the streets and later spiralling into debt.

Peter got his first job in financial services as a cashier at The Portman Building Society (now Nationwide), and quickly started to move through the ranks. Through his fifteen-year career, he has worked in retail banking, corporate banking, and wealth management. During this time, he has held key roles at some of the biggest financial institutions, including NatWest, RBS, MetLife, St James Place, and Investec Wealth & Investment.

Peter founded the YouTube channel and podcast Conversation of Money, to have conversations he wished someone had with him when he was in his twenties. Having struggled with debt through his twenties and thirties. Peter is passionate about sharing the knowledge he has gained through his career and the personal lessons he has learned from being fostered, homeless and working his way through the ranks to the executive team of a Fortune 100 company in Canary Wharf.

Peter was approached to appear as the financial expert on Channel 4s, Secret Spenders. He is also the resident financial expert on Steph’s Packed Lunch and hosts their “Cost of Living” phone-in clinic. He has also become a regular contributor to Lorraine. He contributes to news stories with The Express, The Sun, The Times, The Voice and BBC World Service.
