Nicola Benedetti

Fee Band

According to The Independent, the former Young Musician of the Year and Proms violinist ‘makes the music appear larger than life by sheer eagerness of personality.’ Accompanied by piano or an orchestra, Nicola captivates her audiences with a repertoire of Ravel, Bach and Gershwin.

Biography

Nicola Benedetti is one of the most exciting violinists in the country. The former BBC Young Musician of the Year has already won a Classical Brit and performed on the Royal Variety Show. She also appeared with Luciano Pavarotti for one of his last engagements, at the Proms in the Park and performed Vaughan Williams’ ‘Lark Ascending’ with the BBC Scottish Symphony Orchestra during the main Proms season at the Royal Albert Hall.

Nicola studied at the Yehudi Menuhin School. After winning a host of prizes and signing with Universal, her first album went straight to No.1 in the classical charts. Aside from recording and performing with the likes of the Royal Philharmonic, she also works with schools to encourage children to learn an instrument.

With piano accompaniment, Nicola Benedetti’s recital can include Ravel’s Tzigane, Dvorak’s Romance, Gerswhin’s It Ain't Necessarily So, Bach’s Chaconne, Tartini’s Devil Trill's Sonata and Rondon’s Capriccioso.
