Mark Kermode & The Dodge Brothers

Rockabilly Band

Synopsis

The film buff swaps celluloid for double bass in the skiffle band, complete with washboard. Without so much as a quiff out of place they rattle ‘n’ roll their way through the Great American Songbook.

Biography

Featuring BBC film critic and sometime Culture Show host Mark Kermode, The Dodge Brothers are an acclaimed old-style, rollicking rock ‘n’ roll, country-blues and rockabilly band.

Generally in love with all things Americana, The Dodge Brothers conjure an energetic, exuberant time when the seminal rock ‘n’ roll of Jerry Lee Lewis, Carl Perkins, Jonny Cash and others were taking the US airwaves by storm. Their sound evokes the dusty desert highway and the whisky-soaked juke joints of 50s America.

With original compositions as well as covers of classics from the era, The Dodge Brothers bring a taste of seedy vintage America to any event with, in their words, songs of love, death, and railroads.
