The winner of the 2023 Edinburgh Comedy Awards Victoria Wood panel prize, he has appeared on Mock the Week, ITV’s Out There, and has performed over a hundred dates on his debut tour selling over sold out shows across the UK and Ireland.


Biography

One-liner comedian Mark Simmons has performed all over the UK and Ireland with his debut tour, Quip Off the Mark. He has placed in Dave’s prestigious Best Joke of The Fringe three times and became a social media phenomenon for his quick responses on stage with over a hundred thousand likes on Facebook and a hundred thousand followers on Instagram.

Mark was a series regular on Mock The Week and was tour support for Rob Brydon and Rob Beckett. On his podcast, Jokes With Mark Simmons, he asks fellow comedians to discuss their worst material and why it didn’t work. He has also guest-starred on the Today Programme, appeared on BBC R4’s The Good The Bad and the Unexpected, and was a key fixture on BT Sport’s show DIY Pundit.

We were joined by four fantastic speakers to look ahead at International Women’s Day. With the theme of this year’s event being #InspireInclusion, we were lucky enough to hear from four women who have each blazed a trail in their respective fields: CEO of Channel 4, Alex Mahon; the former Australian Prime Minister and Chair of Kings’ Global Institute of Women’s Leadership, Julia Gillard; one of the leading voices in football, Eniola Aluko MBE; and broadcaster and journalist, Samira Ahmed.
