The British star’s credits extend from Band Of Brothers and Homeland to a hosting role on Have I Got News and a very slow lap on a snowy Top Gear.
British actor Damian Lewis is perhaps best known for his role as the conflicted Nicholas Brody in the international hit TV series Homeland. Before his part as the US Marine sergeant, Damian appeared in other US series, Band of Brother and Life.
Damian’s acting career moved quickly after a spell with the RSC when he appeared alongside Ralph Fiennes in Hamlet, a production that was seen by Steven Speilberg who cast him in his World War II miniseries Band of Brothers. There followed a range of TV and film roles from playing the title role in the BBC’s satirical Jeffrey Archer: The Truth, to the villain in the family film Stormbreaker, to a troubled father searching for his daughter in Keane.
As well as working as a film producer, and appearing on the West End stage in Moliere’s The Misanthrope, more surprising has been Damian’s now regular appearances as guest host on Have I Got News For You, something he has taken to as effectively as any role he’s tackled on stage or screen.
