Markus is a veteran of the Edinburgh Fringe has performed at the Melbourne, Adelaide, and Perth Comedy festivals and was nominated by the New Zealand Comedy Guild for Best International Guest. .He has a Netflix Stand Up Special, ‘Live in Amsterdam’ and was co-writer on Jayde Adams’s Amazon Prime Stand Up Special, ‘Serious Black Jumper’.


Biography

Markus Birdman one of the first British comedians to have his own Netflix Special, ‘Live in Amsterdam’. He has written and performed a dozen Edinburgh Festival Solo shows, and toured Australia, New Zealand, South Africa, India, Pakistan, Scandinavia, and throughout Europe, The Middle East, and Far East.

Markus incorporates visual artwork and animations in his comedy performances. He has created numerous 24-hour murals as part of the comedian Mark Watson’s 24 hr Comedy shows, raising thousands of pounds for Comic Relief. Markus collaborated with the Norwegian musician, Ole Maa, to produce animations for Ole’s live show, En Psychotic Handbok.

After graduating from art school, Markus became a Graffiti Artist, Muralist, Performance Poet, and Glastonbury Festival Poetry Slam Champion.

He has appeared on numerous TV and radio shows and was a co-writer on Jayde Adams’s Amazon Prime Stand Up Special, ‘Serious Black Jumper’. He also appeared on Britain's Got Talent, and made it to the semi-final.

Over the hour our panellists de-mystified AI, speaking about AI’s immense promise for enhancing our lives, alongside the apprehension it has generated regarding job security, privacy infringement, and ethical considerations.

Looking Ahead to International Women’s Day

We were joined by four fantastic speakers to look ahead at International Women’s Day. With the theme of this year’s event being #InspireInclusion, we were lucky enough to hear from four women who have each blazed a trail in their respective fields: CEO of Channel 4, Alex Mahon; the former Australian Prime Minister and Chair of Kings’ Global Institute of Women’s Leadership, Julia Gillard; one of the leading voices in football, Eniola Aluko MBE; and broadcaster and journalist, Samira Ahmed.
