The charismatic host of Channel 4’s First Dates, Fred Sirieix is an award-winning Maître d’hôtel and former General Manager of the Michelin-starred restaurant Galvin at Windows. Under his leadership the restaurant won the Catey award for Hotel Restaurant Team of the Year and the award for Food Service at the AA awards.
Often referred to as a ‘Service Jedi’ and ‘Service Guru’, Fred has spent a lifetime perfecting the art of good customer service. He applies his extensive knowledge in the field of hospitality to discuss the importance of good customer service to a brand’s longevity, reputation, and profitability.
Maître d’ turned matchmaker in the BAFTA winning show First Dates, Fred has featured on First Dates Hotel, I’m a Celebrity … Get Me Out of Here, Gordon, Gino and Fred’s Road Trip and Fred’s Last Resort. He also hosted a BBC Radio 2 series where he played some of his favourite French music artists.
Fred is the Wine Ambassador for Marks and Spencer and the author of the Sunday Times Best Seller Wine Uncorked: My Guide to the World of Wine. He is the founder of the National Waiters Day and the Art of Service training tool, founded the Galvin’s Cup and Galvin’s Chance charities, and launched The Right Course, a prisoner’s service industry education programme.
