BIOGRAPHY
Kwame first made his name as an actor in Casualty. He then showed off his vocal skills in Comic Relief Does Fame Academy; now he is also a highly respected writer and cultural commentator.
His play Elmina's Kitchen premiered at the Royal National Theatre before making a successful transfer to the West End, and winning Kwame an Evening Standard award for Most Promising Playwright.
Kwame Kwei-Armah serves as a goodwill ambassador for Christian Aid. His first assignment was to Senegal, to highlight the problems faced by local food producers competing against subsidised imports.
