Synopsis

Nish has clocked up sell-out runs at Edinburgh and guested on Have I Got News and Live At The Apollo. He also hosts Radio 4 Extra’s sketch show, Newsjack. The Times has hailed his ‘ingenious look at identity,’ but Nish tells it as it is – “I just happen to have the voice of Downton and the face of Homeland.”

Biography

Described by Chortle as ‘the Asian answer to John Oliver,’ Nish has had sell-out success with both his recent Edinburgh shows, ‘Nish Kumar is a Comedian’ and ‘Ruminations on the Nature of Subjectivity.’ His debut show, ‘Who Is Nish Kumar?’ earned him a spot in Dave’s Top Ten Funniest Jokes of the Fringe.

Nish has starred in a number of comic plays, including The Hotel and Wardens at the Edinburgh Fringe. He is one half of comedy duo ‘The Gentlemen of Leisure,’ which has performed all over the UK, including in a site-specific play at the British Museum. This led to a slot on Radio 4 Extra’s Comedy Club.

As well as performing, Nish writes for ‘The Kumars’ on Sky One, and on ‘The Alternative Comedy Experience’ on Comedy Central. He has appeared at the Melbourne International Comedy Festival and at Latitude.
