Once a Jamaican army parachutist, Darren presented BBC News bulletins before taking on in-depth interviews for the Middle East service.
After anchoring virtually all the BBC TV news bulletins, Darren Jordon has moved to Al-Jazeera’s Middle East newsroom in Qatar, regularly anchoring the main news, and presenting Inside Story, Al-Jazeera’s in-depth analytical interview progamme.
Darren attended the Royal Military Academy in Sandhurst, before returning to his native Jamaica and serving as an army parachutist. He saw active service during the invasion of the Caribbean island of Grenada.
After a short stint in advertising sales, he moved to South Africa as a sports journalist before joining what was then BBC News 24. As well as sporting stories he presented location reports for Holiday and fronted the current affairs show 4x4.
