For almost 20 years Annie has been one of Radio 1's most popular and influential DJs, hosting the Friday Dance Party and Future Sounds shows, as well as succeeding Zane Lowe and John Peel as the station's new music ambassador. An acclaimed international live DJ, Annie is also a novelist, presenter and podcaster.


Biography

Irish DJ Annie Mac was Radio 1's new music guru, alongisde presenting her Dance Party and Future Sounds programmes she inherited the station's new music ambassador title from previous incumbents Zane Lowe and John Peel.

As well as her radio shows Annie is a live DJ of international acclaim, playing at festivals, clubs and shows from London to Ibiza to Miami. Away from music Annie is a writer, her debut novel Mother Mother is decribed as a "gritty, affecting coming-of-age novel" about the disappearance of a caring, selfless woman in Befast. She's also a podcaster, her Changes with Annie MacMannus explores the nature and effects of change with artists, musicians, activists and a range of people that have experienced big changes in their lives.
