After selling 50 million records, disbanding and then reforming. Their playlist includes Holding Back The Years, Fairground, Stars, Money’s Too Tight To Mention, If You Don’t Know Me By Now and Something Got Me Started.

Biography

Simply Red are one of Britain’s most successful bands producing a host of huge-selling singles and albums from the late 1980s onwards.

With their origins in the Manchester punk scene, the band went through a number of stylistic evolutions until settling on the soul /rock style that would see them conquer the world. Frontman Mick Hucknall assembled a group of leading local musicians and songwriters and their single Money’s Too Tight (To Mention) became an international hit.

A new version of one of their old songs, Holding Back The Years, became the band’s second global success and was the prelude to a series of hit albums and singles including If You Don’t Know Me By Now, and that peaked with the massive Stars album. Stars contained the title track of the album along with Something Got Me Started, Thrill Me, Wonderland, and For Your Babies.

Stars became one of the biggest selling UK albums ever and was followed by another million-selling album Life, which contained the single Fairground. Simply Red have sold over 50 million albums worldwide and continue to be a huge live draw.
