Biography

Rick Astley became an overnight sensation in the late 80s with his well-crafted dance-pop and a deep, rich voice.

Astley was discovered by the producer Pete Waterman singing in the English soul band FBI. He then teamed up with the Stock, Aitken & Waterman team to produce Never Gonna Give You Up and Together Forever. After that came a cover of Nat King Cole’s When I Fall in Love, which reached Christmas No.1 in 1987.

After releasing an album of covers, including Cry Me A River and Vincent, it was the new viral phenomenon of RickRolling that thrust him back into the limelight once again. It proved so popular that Rick was voted ‘Best Act Ever’ by internet voters at the MTV awards.

Rick Astley has recently headlined the high profile Here & Now Tour. Together with his six-piece band, he performs the greatest hits live, alongside classic swing and big band covers.
