Big Ocean was formed as house band at London’s Café de Paris. Comprising 5-8 session musicians, the playlist takes in hits from the 60s to the present day. They also provide awards stings.


Biography

Originally formed as the house band at the world famous Café de Paris in London, Big Ocean played to a packed house week-in week-out, supporting some of the biggest names in British pop and London's West End. Away from the Café this group of musicians have performed around the world with some of the greatest names in music including Robbie Williams, Depeche Mode, George Michael, Rod Stewart, Beyonce, Annie Lennox, Jo Cocker and many more.

The breadth and versatility of this eight piece party band is unmatched and includes powerful male and female vocalists, a formidable horn section and the funkiest rhythm section you'll ever experience. The band are also flexible according to the styles and repertoire required. Made up of some of the best session musicians in the country, no style, era or request is too great a challenge. Big Ocean can provide both dance performances and background music with the inclusion of solo classical piano or jazz piano, strings, guitar and vocals.

We were joined by four fantastic speakers to look ahead at International Women’s Day. With the theme of this year’s event being #InspireInclusion, we were lucky enough to hear from four women who have each blazed a trail in their respective fields: CEO of Channel 4, Alex Mahon; the former Australian Prime Minister and Chair of Kings’ Global Institute of Women’s Leadership, Julia Gillard; one of the leading voices in football, Eniola Aluko MBE; and broadcaster and journalist, Samira Ahmed.
