The LBC and former 5Live presenter has opened PMQs to public scrutiny and interviewed everyone from those that run the country to the cast of TOWIE. Shelagh admits to having the odd dream about George Osborne, who found out and encouraged her to enjoy the experience. As the story proves, she’s also a marvellous mimic.
Shelagh Fogarty is an award-winning radio and TV broadcaster. The host of LBC’s afternoon show, she previously co-hosted the Radio 5Live Breakfast Show and BBC2’s The Daily Politics.
After working for a host of local BBC radio stations from Humberside to Guernsey, Shelagh joined Radio 4 covering politics and current affairs. She moved to 5Live first hosting Weekend Breakfast and then the weekday Breakfast show with it’s mixture of news, politics, sport, consumer issues and lighter articles. She also joined Andrew Neil to host BBC2’s Daily Politics.
In her varied broadcasting career Shelagh has covered everything from the Alder Hay hospital case to Madonna's wedding, the budget to reality TV. In the call of duty she’s swum the Serpentine and had a gun pointed at her whilst filming for Tonight with Trevor McDonald. As well as hosting and chairing, Shelgah is multi-lingual and a wondrous mimic, with a great sense of humour and is marvellous raconteur on anything from life in a Catholic girls school to walking up Ben Nevis.
