The former children’s presenter and smiling face of Holland & Barrett ads lists Holding Out For A Hero among his peak time TV credits.
Gethin Jones is a multi-talented TV and radio presenter with a background in economics, music and sport. He is best known for his time on Blue Peter, and as a contestant on Strictly Come Dancing.
An accomplished pianist and violinist (and sometime bagpipe player), Gethin has played with the BBC Philharmonic Orchestra at the Royal Albert Hall. He captained his university rugby team, represented Lancashire and had trials with Sale RFC.
His first break in TV was for Welsh language Channel S4C presenting youth and music shows. During this time, for the show Uned 5, he obtained his private pilots licence. His time on S4C lead to his role on Blue Peter where he experienced the usual set of extraordinary, testing and exciting challenges from doing the Cresta Run to training with the Royal Marines.
After Blue Peter, Gethin went on to shows including Police Camera Action, Gethin Jones’ Danger Hunters and The Gethin Jones Show on Radio 5 Live. He was a contestant in Strictly Come Dancing, achieving third place, and taking part in the live tour. He has since presented BBC’s It Takes Two and Dancing with The Stars in America.
Gethin has also taken part in ITV’s Soccer Aid and 71 Degrees North, has narrated a theatrical production of the Rocky Horror Show, and is the holder of four Guinness World Records. He is the co-founder of the Autism charity Nai, runs his own events company and launched the fitness app Unifi.
