Angela embarked on her life long dream to be a comedian after a career in health and social care. She won the BBC New Comedy Award and has become a regular on BBC Radio 4, as well as appearing on Mock the Week and Live at the Apollo.


Biography

After a career in health and social care, Angela embarked on her lifelong dream to be a comedian. Within a couple of years, she had won the BBC New Comedy Award and has gone on to appear on Mock the Week, Live at the Apollo and Russell Howard’s Good News.

As well as becoming a regular on BBC Radio 4 having featured on The Now Show she took on the role of host on The News Quiz and hosted BBC Radio 4 Extra’s Newsjack and co-hosted the podcast We Are History with John O’Farrell. Angela was also featured on The One Show reporting on women and ADHD after her own diagnosis.

Angela’s smart self-deprecating one-liners cover the trouble with her hometown as well as the mixed blessings of technology, the tedium of friends children, and the difficulties of clothing choices. A regular at Edinburgh Fringe she’s done shows about nuclear bunkers and shows in nuclear bunkers. She also set up the Home Safe collective, which helped comedians at the Fringe.

We were joined by four fantastic speakers to look ahead at International Women’s Day. With the theme of this year’s event being #InspireInclusion, we were lucky enough to hear from four women who have each blazed a trail in their respective fields: CEO of Channel 4, Alex Mahon; the former Australian Prime Minister and Chair of Kings’ Global Institute of Women’s Leadership, Julia Gillard; one of the leading voices in football, Eniola Aluko MBE; and broadcaster and journalist, Samira Ahmed.
