Biography

Joe Stilgoe is an acclaimed musician, singer and songwriter who combines showmanship, wit and virtuoso performances. He has performed at jazz clubs, theatres and festivals all over the world delivering his unique take on standards, favourites from film and theatre, pop hits and original material.

As The Sunday Times described Joe, this “very British Harry Connick Jr” has performed with the likes of Alexander Armstrong, the BBC Concert Orchestra, the Royal Liverpool Philharmonic and hit musical comedy troupe The Horne Section. He’s recorded critically praised, popular albums of his own material as well as jazz-infused versions of songs by artists from One Direction to The Doors. Solo or with his band, live he performs familiar favourites from all genres as well as his crowd-pleasing 80s medley, interspersed with taking requests and chatting to the audience.

A regular on radio he’s appeared on everything from BBC Radio 4’s The Now Show to Radio 2 institution Friday Night is Music Night. He brings a sense of humour, energy and theatre to songs old and new that, according to the Guardian, “even dedicated non-jazz lovers will find irresistible.”
