Stanley has appeared in over seventy films, including The Devil Wears Prada, Easy A, The Terminal, and Road to Perdition, and has performed in more than a dozen plays, on and off Broadway. He earned his first Academy Award nomination, for Best Supporting Actor in The Lovely Bones. He also has a passion for food and travelled to Italy in the Emmy awarding winning food series Searching for Italy.

He starred in the film Big Night, the story of two brothers who emigrated from Italy to open an Italian restaurant in America. The film inspired a recipe book, Cucina and Famiglia, which was created by Stanley, his parents, and chefs Gianni Scappin and Mimi Shanley Taft. He hosted the CNN food and travel documentary series Stanley Tucci: Searching for Italy, which won two consecutive Primetime Emmy Awards for Outstanding Hosted Nonfiction Series. He also hosted the culinary travel series, Stanley Tucci: Searching for Italy, a six-part original CNN series following Stanley on a food tour of Italy.
Stanley is the author of Taste: My Life Through Food, The Tucci Cookbook: Family, Friends and Food, and The Tucci Table.
He serves on the Board of Directors of The Food Bank for New York City and has served as a Creative Advisor at the Sundance Institute Screenwriters and Directors Labs.
