Biography

Nikolas Badminton is Chief Futurist at futurist.com. He mentors’ leaders to create more connected, curious, and creative teams that embrace futures design to imagine desirable futures, anticipate unforeseen risks, and strengthen strategic planning.

Nikolas has spent over thirty years working with leadership at more than three hundred leading organisations at the frontline of foresight, strategy, and disruption, including NASA, the United Nations, the Bank of Canada, and the UK Home Office.

In his book Facing Our Futures: How foresight, futures design and strategy creates prosperity and growth, Nikolas helps executives ignite imagination and futures exploration to shift organisational mindsets from what is to what if, and increase organisational vigilance, profitability, and market capitalisation.

His research has been featured by the BBC, VICE, The Atlantic, Fast Company, Business Insider, Forbes, and the Sunday Telegraph. He was an advisor to the Age of AI series with Robert Downey Jr and narrates the Franklin Institute's series 2050. He also regularly appears on SIRIUSXM and CTV.

In his talks Nikolas explores stories on how our futures manifest and how people, systems, technology and cultures collide to challenge us and create opportunities for growth.

On Tuesday 17th September we had the pleasure of hearing from a remarkable panel of speakers, who shared their expertise on the challenges of managing Risk in a chaotic world.

The panel featured esteemed speakers, Dr. Sabrina Cohen-Hatton KFSM (Firefigter and Neuroscience researcher), Lord Parker of Minsmere (Andrew Parker, Former Director General of MI5), and Sir Robin Niblett (Former Director and Chief Executive of Chatham House). The event was hosted superbly by Mastermind and BBC News presenter Clive Myrie.

Over the hour, our panellists explored Risk on multiple levels, from global affairs to business environments and personal everyday challenges. They provided valuable insights into how we can better manage and mitigate Risk in today’s unpredictable world.
