Now covering events in the US, Katy’s media career began at The Daily Telegraph before becoming Diary Editor and a Political Correspondent for The Spectator, where she then became Political Editor. She also hosted the podcast Women With Balls speaking to women at the top of their respective fields about their passions, battles and what makes them tick.
Katy Balls is the Washington Editor of both The Times and The Sunday Times. She previously served as The Spectator‘s political editor, was a regular columnist for the i newspaper, and a contributor to The Guardian.
Katy was shortlisted for Political Commentator of the Year at the Press Awards and was a host of The Spectator‘s daily politics podcast Coffee House Shots. She also presented her own Spectator podcast, Women With Balls, where she spoke to women leading the way in their field including Justine Roberts, Nadine Dorries, Ruth Davison, Dame Helena Morrissey, Dame Joan Collins, Ruby Wax and Emma Barnett.
Katy is a regular on broadcast media and has appeared on a range of current affairs programmes including The Andrew Marr Show, Politics Live, Any Questions, the Today programme, Channel 4 News and Newsnight.
