Dave is currently ploughing his way through a series of 25 expeditions. Each is at least 1000 miles, using a different non-motorised form of transport. Dave has paddle-boarded the Mississippi and skateboarded all the way from from Perth to Brisbane. He might also admit to dating 100 women in 100 days.
Dissatisfied and unfulfilled by his job as a graphic designer, Dave took up skateboarding as a diversionary hobby. It led to a new appreciation of the outdoors, and to his completing the longest skateboard journey in history, so he quit his job to follow his passion.
Now a record-breaking adventurer, Dave has travelled over 16,000 miles as part of the Expedition1000 project: 25 journeys of 1000 miles, each using a different form of non-motorised transport, including the Elliptical Bike, kayak and swimming.
Dave has written several books about his adventures, and one about his search for love (he attempted to date 100 women in 100 days), encouraging people to cast their fears of the ‘unordinary’ aside and pledge to do something different. In speeches he advocates continued use of the word ‘yes,’ encouraging adventures both big and small.
