Biography

Amy Lewin is the editor of Financial Times-backed Sifted, the leading media publication for Europe's start-ups and tech ecosystem. She heads up Sifted’s growing team of journalists, co-hosts their podcast and co-authors a weekly venture capital newsletter. Amy is well-versed on all the technological innovations set to shape our society in the months and years to come, from fintech to foodtech, generative AI to climate tech, and covers everything from food delivery and diversity initiatives, through to digital banks and doctor apps. She is particularly knowledgeable on Europe’s venture capital industry, and especially interested in the “people” challenges of start-ups.

Amy regularly appears onstage at industry events across the continent, including Founders Forum, Slush, The Next Web, Sifted Summit, SaaStock and SuperVenture, where she’s interviewed the likes of Snap CEO Evan Spiegel, screenwriter Richard Curtis and Estonia’s former president Kersti Kaljulaid, along with plenty of top European founders and venture capitalists.

Having joined Sifted as its first employee, Amy’s played an instrumental role in building and developing a new media brand and media business from scratch, launching everything from newsletters to podcasts to live events, hiring a team and honing Sifted’s editorial voice and viewpoint.

Before joining Sifted Amy was features editor at Courier magazine, where she also wrote about start-ups.
