Tom Cannon is Professor of Strategic Development at the University of Liverpool and is one of Britain's most highly regarded professors of modern business management. He is also a consultant on creativity, leadership, diversity and corporate social responsibility.

Prior to his current academic and business appointments, Tom was CEO of Management Charter Initiative. He has also served as Director of Manchester Business School, the International Institute for Corporate Responsibility, and the Scottish Enterprise Foundation.

Tom was commissioned by Tony Blair to establish a platform of ethical and social responsibility to help take British companies into the future. He is one of the principal experts on the changing nature of leadership, challenging the traditional role and posing difficult questions about organisational structure and hierarchy. His study of high performance teams, Teaching Eagles to Flock, won worldwide recognition.

Tom is the CEO of the Ideopolis business consultancy who specialise in areas of enterprise, leadership, sustainability, diversity and CSR. He is also an expert on the business and financial aspects of professional sports and often commentates on these issues for the BBC, Sky and Blomberg.

In addition to his general business knowledge, Tom is recognised as one of the country's leading commentators on the business and economics of sport, particularly football, Formula 1, cricket and rugby. He is a member of the University of Liverpool's Football Industry Group and he teaches on their Football Industries MBA (FIMBA) programme. Tom is author of over 20 books, including Welcome to the Revolution and the bestselling Guinness Book of Business Records. He has also written for The Guardian, The Times, The Financial Times and The Scotsman.
