Biography

Sonali Shah is a presenter, producer and broadcaster. She regularly presented the sports news on Radio 4’s Today programme as well as the news bulletins on BBC World News. A seasoned presenter, Sonali has hosted everything from sports to politics to entertainment, including BBC’s Newsround, Escape to the Country, Crimewatch and Watchdog.

After starting in hospital radio, Sonali joined the BBC where she became a producer and presenter for the World Business Report and The World Today. She then moved to Radio 5 Live, first producing and then reporting for programmes including Wake Up to Money. She later hosted Newsround, and filmed two documentaries in Afghanistan for the programme – Growing up in a Warzone and The Children of Kabul.

She has interviewed some of the biggest names in sport including Lewis Hamilton, Novak Djokovic, David Beckham and Maria Sharapova. Sonali was on the BBC’s presenting team for the London Olympics as well as the documentary series Olympics Dreams, following the lives of British athletes as they prepared for 2012. Other credits include the Commonwealth Games, the Cricket World Cup, the Boat Race, Wimbledon, the Epsom Derby, the London Marathon and the Royal Wedding. A popular CBBC personality, Sonali is an Ambassador to the Prince’s Trust and has campaigned for Comic Relief, Sport Relief and Children in Need.

Please join us at Bishopsgate Institute on Wednesday 6th of November where we will be looking at high-performance and mindset with our two excellent speakers.

Guenther Steiner is the Former Team Principal of F1’s Haas, a role he held from the team’s inception until this year. Under his leadership, he grew Haas into one of the sport’s leading independent teams.

Joining Guenther on stage will be broadcaster and behavioural scientist Paul Mckenna, who has written a number of bestselling books, and works on how psychology and mindset can impact achievement.

On Tuesday 17th September we had the pleasure of hearing from a remarkable panel of speakers, who shared their expertise on the challenges of managing Risk in a chaotic world.

The panel featured esteemed speakers, Dr. Sabrina Cohen-Hatton KFSM (Firefigter and Neuroscience researcher), Lord Parker of Minsmere (Andrew Parker, Former Director General of MI5), and Sir Robin Niblett (Former Director and Chief Executive of Chatham House). The event was hosted superbly by Mastermind and BBC News presenter Clive Myrie.

Over the hour, our panellists explored Risk on multiple levels, from global affairs to business environments and personal everyday challenges. They provided valuable insights into how we can better manage and mitigate Risk in today’s unpredictable world.
