Biography

Scott Berkun is a best-selling author whose work has covered creativity, leadership, innovation and design. He worked for Microsoft and website company Wordpress before becoming a full-time writer and speaker.

At Microsoft Scott was charged with working on the design and user interface for Internet Explorer and Windows before becoming a team leader at Wordpress. He left office life behind with the intention of filling his book selves with books he’d written.

As well as writing for the New York Times, The Economist, Washington Post, Wall Street Journal, and Wired, Scott is the author of six books. In The Myths of Innovation Scott counters the hype surrounding the mystery of great ideas and how they’re a lot easier than people believe, how managers can encourage them, and the challenges they face. Whilst in Mindfire he continues some of these themes and looks at big ideas and how to have them. In Making Things Happen Scott delivers practical advice on project management and how to make ideas reality, lead teams and combat crises based on his time at Microsoft. The Year Without Pants examines the world of Wordpress, one of the most popular and innovate sites in the world which gives an array of professional standard web design tools to average users and has enabled millions to build their own websites.
