Synopsis

A 30-year veteran of the US Federal Government, Paul Volcker served two terms as Chairman of the Federal Reserve, and also served at the Federal Reserve Bank of New York and the Treasury Department. Regarded as one of the most authoritative and experienced economists in the US he also served as chairman of the Economic Recovery Advisory Board under President Obama, as honorary co-chairman for the World Justice Project, and was appointed by Kofi Annan to chair the Independent Inquiry into the United Nations Oil for Food Programme.
