Professor Neil Lawrence is the DeepMInd Professor of Machine Learning at the University of Cambridge, and the former Director of Machine Learning at Amazon. In his Amazon role, he was responsible for the implementation of AI into the company's global supply chain, as well as into Alexa. He brings his technical expertise into the worlds of AI and Machine Learning to speeches, fusing this with the existential questions many have about these emerging technologies - themes also explored in his book The Atomic Human: Understanding Ourselves in the Age of AI.

Professor Neil Lawrence is the DeepMind Professor of Machine Learning at the University of Cambridge, and a Senior AI Fellow at the Alan Turing Institute. Prior to this, he was Director of Machine Learning at Amazon, where he developed the company's deployment of AI and Machine Learning solutions across their platforms - including Prime Air, Alexa and within their global supply chain.

As well as his technical expertise in the worlds of AI and machine learning Neil is involved in policy and social work within emerging technologies. He is a member of the UK's AI Council and the Centre of Data Ethics, and explored the latest developments in Machine Learning in his podcast Talking Machines.

As a speaker, Neil examines the worlds of AI and machine learning, fusing his technical and business awareness of its application with what it means for human nature. He argues that AI has a symbiotic relationship with human intelligence and creativity - themes he explores further in his upcoming book The Atomic Human: Understanding Ourselves in the Age of AI.
