Alongside academic appointments Anil is a member of the WEF Council on Emerging Multinationals. He is also co-author of Getting China and India Right. In speeches he explains that India needn’t worry about domestic demand, unlike China – although problems persist with policy paralysis and inflation. Once they realise the gains to be had from growing trade with one another, and achieve parity with the US, there will still be enormous potential for growth.
Anil K. Gupta is a respected expert on strategy, emerging markets and globalisation. Widely published in business and academic areas, Anil is widely recognised as a leading authority on Asia and the Middle East.
An impressive list of professional and academic positions include posts at the University of Maryland, INSEAD, The China India Institute, and Stanford University. He is also a Lifetime Fellow of both the Strategic Management Society, the Academy of Management, and the Academy of International Business. He has also served on the boards of companies in the technology, pharmaceutical and investments areas.
Anil regularly addresses the World Economic Forum and is a member of the organisation’s Agenda Council on Emerging Multinationals. He writes articles and columns for, amongst others, The Wall Street Journal, the Financial Times, China Daily, The Washington Post and Forbes magazine. He is a regular commentator on the BBC, CNBC, and CCTV China.
Along with dozens of academic articles on emerging market strategy and global business, Anil is the author of a number of books including Global Strategies for Emerging Asia, Getting China and India Right, The Quest for Global Dominance, and Global Strategy and Organisation.
