The former co-presenter of Springwatch and Autumnwatch, Kate has carved out a niche as a specialist on the natural world, producing and presenting a wealth of BBC documentaries.
Biography
Kate Humble is a wildlife and science presenter and producer. With Bill Oddie, Chris Packham and Simon King, she hosted SpringWatch, AutumnWatch, and Seawatch widely praised for reigniting public interest in nature. Kate is the author of the award-winning book Thinking on My Feet: The small joy of putting one foot in front of another and has presented various documentaries for the BBC including Animal Park, The Spice Trail, Volcano Live, Orbit, The Blue Planet Live! and Extreme Wives with Kate Humble.
Kate joined the BBC as a researcher on Animal Hospital, then moved on to Holiday. She followed up with her own series, Humble Holidays, exploring maximum fun at minimum cost.
Kate is the ambassador for the walking charity Living Streets and has served as the President of the RSPB. She has reported on the impact of climate change, presented Abyss and Countryfile, and filmed India’s dancing bears for Amazing Animals. She has also written for The Telegraph, The Times and Wanderlust Magazine, and has appeared on Countdown and Who Do You Think You Are.

We wanted a presenter who would deliver a relaxed, yet professional evening, being friendly and informal but having the ‘green’ credentials that we wanted. Kate Humble fitted the bill perfectly.
Also she made ourselves, the organizers feel very comfortable and she was very friendly, she was a real pleasure to work with and I’d definitely recommend her to others and work with her again.
The audience loved Kate. They responded well to her, enjoying the jokes Kate included in the evening and she created a very uplifting atmosphere to compliment the Awards. Afterwards, a lot of people wanted to talk to her, have photos taken and get her autograph. Kate was really nice about this and stayed for about 45 minutes afterwards, mingling with the crowd. Most of the audience had heard of Kate, through her environmental activities so it was someone they wished to meet.
