Comedian, writer and co-star of Sky One and HBO Max series Two Weeks to Live, Mawaan has appeared on BBC2's Live at the Apollo and Channel 4's Harry Hill's Clubnite. His honest style of stand-up includes a number of muscial skits, including the songs 'Mango' and 'Never Been Skiing', both of which have gone viral.

 


Biography

Mawaan is a Pakistani-born British actor, writer and comedian whose career has leapt from homespun content on YouTube to full-blown mainstream success. His stand-up show Juice won critical praise, selling out to audiences across the UK.

He co-stars alongside Maisie Williams in Two Weeks to Live, a six-part comedy series by Sky One and HBO Max. He is also recognised as having starred in the ITV Drama Next of Kin, and the BAFTA winning Murdered By My Father.

It was his writing role on the Netflix series Sex Education that Mawaan earned a spot on Forbes' 30 under 30 list. He has appeared on BBC2's Live at the Apollo and Channel 4's Harry Hill's Clubnite, making audiences laugh with his heart bared on subjects ranging from growing up as a digital native, to getting into scrapes as an adult.

A musical as well as comedic talent, Mawaan’s performances include the songs Mango and Never Been Skiing, both of which have gone viral. He featured on the first ever series of Taskmaster for C4, and has also been a co-host on Jonathan Ross’ Comedy Club on ITV.

Looking Ahead to International Women’s Day

We were joined by four fantastic speakers to look ahead at International Women’s Day. With the theme of this year’s event being #InspireInclusion, we were lucky enough to hear from four women who have each blazed a trail in their respective fields: CEO of Channel 4, Alex Mahon; the former Australian Prime Minister and Chair of Kings’ Global Institute of Women’s Leadership, Julia Gillard; one of the leading voices in football, Eniola Aluko MBE; and broadcaster and journalist, Samira Ahmed.
