Since then, she has anchored coverage of almost every major political event in the UK, including a dozen general elections, various referendums and leadership contests, as well as breaking news stories from around the world. Throughout her career, Kay has reported from conflict zones and world capitals, and has interviewed global leaders, royalty, and public figures across politics, business and entertainment. In her 36 years at Sky, she hosted her own show, The Kay Burley Show, and the main breakfast news programme on Sky News, she also fronted election-night coverage and presented from the scene of many breaking stories.
Outside broadcasting, Kay has written two novels and is a committed supporter of several charities, including organisations supporting cancer research and animal welfare.
