Biography

JP Pawliw-Fry is a research-based leadership expert and scientist whose work spans two decades of studying how people manage emotions and perform under pressure. His organisation conducts monthly surveys of over 40,000 people, providing extensive data to underpin his science-based approach to developing leadership skills and performance tools. He was formerly one of the highest-rated lecturers at the Kellogg Graduate School of Management and is co-author of the New York Times bestseller Performing Under Pressure: The Science of Doing Your Best When it Matters Most, published in 65 countries.

JP explores how organisations can build cultures of exceptional leadership by developing science-backed skills for managing pressure and emotional intelligence. He challenges organisations to examine the conversations they are not having and their impact on innovation and performance. He addresses how leaders can navigate disruption and change by focusing on people rather than technology, and demonstrates how to harness organisational pressure as a catalyst for resilience to major challenges.

Drawing from his research on human behaviour and decision-making, JP provides practical tools and models that underpin lasting behaviour change. He has worked with leaders from Fortune 500 companies including Goldman Sachs, Intel, Coca-Cola and Johnson & Johnson, as well as the US Marines, Olympic athletes and NBA and NFL teams. This experience in high-pressure environments has enabled him to test and refine his ideas with a wide variety of elite performers. He also hosts the Last 8% Morning podcast, a morning routine developed over 24 years of work with Olympic athletes that combines physical and mental training.

JP brings scientific rigour, high-energy delivery, meaningful audience interaction and practical tools that enable people to perform differently. His approach transforms complex behavioural research into accessible, memorable frameworks and language tailored to specific circumstances.
