Biography

Joe Wicks is a health, fitness and wellbeing coach, writer, and online and TV presenter. Also known as The Body Coach, his social media fitness sessions and health tips are a phenomenon.

After studying sports science Joe briefly worked as a teaching assistant before pursuing his passion as a personal trainer. His online career took off after he started posting videos on Instagram and YouTube with fitness, diet, and health advice. His Body Coach website grew as he published a succession of hugely popular books, fitness, and nutrition plans, and even put his name to a range of cookware.

Joe's debut book Lean in 15 went straight to the top of the charts and holds the record for the biggest first week sales of a debut cookbook of all time and sits behind Jamie Oliver as the second best-selling cookbook of all time. His follow up book, Lean in 15: The Shape Plan, went straight to the top of the charts. The trilogy was completed with the release of Lean in 15: The Sustain Plan, which also went straight to number one in the book charts. The number ones continued with The Fat Loss Plan, 30 Minute Meals, Veggie Lean in 15, Joe's Family Food and Feel Good in 15. He has also released a children’s book The Burpee Bears and has ten best-selling books.

After appearances on TV shows from Good Morning Britain to Celebrity Juice, he hosted his own Channel 4 series, Joe Wicks: The Body Coach.

His profile rose even more during the Covid-19 outbreak. Joe helped to keep spirits high by becoming the 'Nation's PE Teacher'. Every weekday, he delivered remote 'PE' sessions to children and adults alike cementing his position as a national treasure. Through his daily live workouts, Joe raised over £550,000 for the NHS, as well as breaking a Guinness World Record after one of his classes was watched live by 955,000 people on YouTube. Joe was awarded an MBE for his work during the pandemic.

"We loved how personal Joe made the Q&A feel; it felt like he was chatting directly with the person who asked the question. Brilliant."
