Biography

Jo Salter was the first female fast jet pilot in the Royal Air Force before then going on to a senior executive career. She joined the RAF at 18, earned her wings, completed her fast jet training on the Panavia Tornado, and rose to the rank of Flight Lieutenant, serving with 617 Squadron. Beyond her own flying career, Jo made a significant impact guiding Air Cadets through Air Experience Flights and leading an all-male squadron, demonstrating her capability in challenging environments and inspiring the next generation of armed services personnel.

Following her distinguished military career, Jo transitioned into the corporate world, holding senior leadership roles at NetConnect, Automated Power Exchange, and Saltin Ltd. She then joined PwC, serving in leadership and people roles before becoming Director of Global Transformative Leadership, and with the additional role of Global Advisory of GenAI. Her experience in both risk assessment and implementation of GenAI strategies gives her a comprehensive understanding of emerging technologies in the business landscape.

Jo explores how organisations can navigate disruption and drive meaningful transformation, drawing from her experience adapting to constantly evolving landscapes in both military and corporate sectors. She examines the mindset required to embrace change, challenge the status quo and approach challenges with strategic insight. She addresses how to build and maintain high-performing teams by leveraging individual strengths and fostering inclusive, innovative working environments. She also explores generative AI, addressing both the opportunities and risks of AI implementation in business and decision-making. Her insights centre on resilience, inclusive leadership, and empowering others to lead with confidence, particularly for women leaders in male-dominated sectors. Jo combines direct experience of overcoming gender barriers in traditional settings with expertise in modern business transformation and technology.
