Biography
Ed Byrne is one of the UK’s top live acts, and one of the hardest working. As well as sell-out runs in Edinburgh and the West End, he is also firmly established himself on the international circuit. He regularly performs at Montreal’s Just For Laughs and in front of capacity audiences everywhere from Paris to Vegas to Sydney.
Ed’s confident, affable conversational delivery charms audiences. His relaxed style disguises a sharp wit, and a mastery of the barbed comment. Whether railing against pop culture or politics, or observing life as a married man and father, Ed wins the crowd with his gentle-natured rants.
Mock the Week’s most frequent guest, Ed and his friend Dara O Briain have also travelled around South America in their Big Adventure for BBC Two. As well as appearing on Live at the Apollo, Have I Got News For You, Would I Lie to You?, and a whole host of panel shows, he’s also been a regular on the US talk show Late Night with Conan O’Brien.
Ed made his theatrical debut in Brian McAvera’s Kings of the Road. He has gone on to play a number of other roles in film and television - though to many he is still remembered as the voice of Carphone Warehouse commercials.

Feedback has been 100% positive. He met our objectives perfectly, his energy kept people engaged throughout and he absolutely nailed the level of banter the audience would take.
Some are saying this was the best JFA event so far. Ed was very easy to work with and quite happy to go with whatever we wanted which is great from an event organisers point of view as it makes the evening a whole lot easier.
Ed excelled himself. He had the 430 guests in stitches and capped a super evening.
His references/experiences to TRAVEL were excellent. His male/female references to marriage good, but could have made a very few uneasy. Rest of his patter and run through the Awards categories were great. As Jeremy said ‘ A safe pair of hands’.

Ed exceeded expectations. He was very relaxed and easy to work with, and offered helpful input to the awards presenters. The audience was engaged, entertained, energised. I personally was so impressed that I booked tickets for Ed's Tour later this year.
Excellent – Ed was very easy to work with on the night, was flexible when we were running late, and also handled both the comedy and awards presentation elements of the event very well. He held the attention of the audience well, and the overall feedback from them was that it was perhaps the best we’d had over the various years. I was also very pleased that Ed stayed on for a few drinks after the ceremony and mingled with the guests; the audience very much appreciates that.
