Jessica’s stand-up show Hench was nominated for the 2019 Edinburgh Comedy Award, a highpoint after numerous regular TV and radio slots ranging from BBC2's Live at The Apollo and QI, to Richard Osman's House of Games and Dave Gorman's Modern Life is Goodish. She is the co-host of The Guilty Feminist, an actress and a comedy writer. 


Biography

Jessica’s stand-up show Hench was nominated for the Edinburgh Comedy Award, a highpoint after numerous regular TV and radio slots, ranging from BBC2's Live at The Apollo and QI to Richard Osman's House of Games and Dave Gorman's Modern Life is Goodish. 

She co-hosts The Guilty Feminist podcast with Deborah Frances-White, and is the host and creator of chart-scaling podcast Hoovering.

Listeners of BBC R4 Extra’s The Comedy Club, Museum of Curiosity, The News Quiz and The Podcast Radio Hour will know her voice. Viewers will know her from the multi-award-winning BBC drama Three Girls, The Trouble With Maggie Cole, BBC’s Cuckoo, and Motherland. 

As an actress, Jessica has appeared in several feature films, including Official Secrets from Gavin Hood and Greed from Michael Winterbottom.

We were joined by four fantastic speakers to look ahead at International Women’s Day. With the theme of this year’s event being #InspireInclusion, we were lucky enough to hear from four women who have each blazed a trail in their respective fields: CEO of Channel 4, Alex Mahon; the former Australian Prime Minister and Chair of Kings’ Global Institute of Women’s Leadership, Julia Gillard; one of the leading voices in football, Eniola Aluko MBE; and broadcaster and journalist, Samira Ahmed.
