Biography

Baroness Ruth Hunt is the former CEO and Director of Campaigns at Stonewall, the largest LGBTQ+ charity in Europe. During her tenure at the helm of the organisation, Ruth held a key role in leading a number of landmark campaigns, which included tackling homophobia in schools and developing the Rainbow Laces campaign in partnership with the Premier League

Since leaving Stonewall, Ruth co-founded Deeds and Words alongside her partner Caroline Ellis, where she is also a Director. Deeds and Words works with c-suite teams to understand how collective and inclusive leadership can drive organisational effectiveness and improve workplace cultures to the benefit of all.

In 2019, Ruth became the youngest cross-bench peer in the House of Lords. She is a visiting fellow at Jesus College Cambridge, and the former President of Oxford Students Union. In speeches, she brings charm and humour to the subject of leadership, reflecting on her own experience to help audiences understand how to build positive workplace cultures.
