Anand Menon

Biography

Anand Menon is a leading academic, commentator and researcher into policy and foreign affairs, and is a leading expert on the UK’s relationship with Europe. As Professor of European Politics and Foreign Affairs at King’s College London, Director of the think tank UK in a Changing Europe, and a Director at Public First, the policy, research and strategy consultancy, he has spent over three decades researching and teaching British and European politics at universities, and for public and private organisations.

The author of Europe: The State of the Union, Anand explores both the flaws, but also the importance of the EU, both domestically and on the world stage. With enthusiasm and clarity, but also the objectivity of an academic, he makes even the most multi-layered, nuanced issues digestible. Anand offers a fresh perspective on the UK’s relationship with Europe, its closest neighbour and most significant trading partner, as well as the evolving nature of the EU itself. From expansion and economic growth to security concerns and relations with those beyond its borders, he explores the wider global implications of European political shifts.
