Biography
Broadcaster and journalist Nadine Dereza presents business, news and entertainment programmes on TV. She hosted CNBC’s IoT: Powering the Digital Economy, exploring how digital innovation is reshaping industries, a subject she continues to champion as a Non-Executive Director at OpenProperty Tech, where AI and blockchain are transforming the property market. She has also presented for Associated Press, BBC, CNN, SABC, Simply Money, Sky TV, Summit TV and TalkRadio.
Named Financial Journalist of the Year during her time at the Financial Times and Summit TV, Nadine has covered the full breadth of the business world, from founder stories to boardroom strategy, and from economic policy to emerging technology. She has interviewed many key international policy and decision-makers and politicians.
Nadine is co-founder and Media Director of Babaco Media, a communications consultancy specialising in preparing clients for media interviews, presentations and public appearances. She is a judge for The Business Books Awards and IBC’s Accelerators Media Innovation Awards, bringing together world-leading and new industry players from across the global media, entertainment and technology communities. She was previously appointed by the UK Government as a Non-Executive Director of the WorldSkills Board, promoting best practice apprenticeships and vocational training.
A skilled and experienced live facilitator, Nadine fosters conversations that keep audiences engaged and involved. She has hosted and chaired over a thousand events for a diverse range of clients across many industries and sectors in the UK and internationally. Nadine also speaks extensively about crisis communications and reputation management, especially in time-sensitive, high-pressure situations.
'Once again, Nadine made a difficult job look easy’
I had the pleasure of working with Nadine on a live Internet TV Broadcast we commissioned to drive brand awareness and engagement with my company. We selected Nadine over a number of other potential broadcasters, due to her experience, alignment with the IT Industry, engaging style and the pedigree of her previous work.
On the first call we had with Nadine, we realised we had selected such a great host for the event; she was so well prepared, had researched the company and industry, was able to contribute to the script and help direct the agenda so as to align better with the TV style of broadcast.
During the pre calls and workshops before the event, Nadine and her team made great contributions to the overall shape of the event, helped refine the script and identify topics to focus on.
During the rehearsals Nadine came to shine; her ability to engage the speakers, command the studio, make people feel at ease, help adapt the scripts, give helpful tips to the speakers and bring the whole event together was outstanding. The way she and the agency we used, along the local production team worked was seamless.
The event was broadcast live and went without any problems, feedback from the Executives, Customers, Partners and Prospects that watched was outstanding – comments like the best security event ever, what a brilliant host Nadine was made the event run smoothly, can we make the TV show a series….
