As well as tackling domestic building projects, Nick hosts the lottery game show Secret Fortune – and looks set to produce his first feature film.
Although best known for his involvement in DIY and home make-over programmes, Nick Knowles is a versatile presenter who has fronted everything from the National Lottery to Last Choir Standing.
Nick started out in the building trade going on to start his own company before joining the newly launched Channel Five for their daytime chat and magazine show 5's Company. From there he went to the BBC and two shows that defined much of his career: DIY SOS and City Hospital. DIY SOS sees Nick take on the DIY mistakes of viewers with a team of professional builders, whilst City Hospital is the long running show looking at the ups and downs of a day in various hospitals around the country.
Having established himself as a popular presenter of factual shows, Nick has gone on to host programmes including National Lottery Who Dares Wins, Last Choir Standing, Holiday Hit Squad, and The One Show. Nick has also appeared on Never Mind the Buzzcocks, Comic Relief Does Fame Academy, A Question of Sport and is a regular on Loose Women.
Nick has journeyed to Africa to lead teams building shelters and wells, audition budding wildlife photographers, and see the work of Sport Relief, and has presented a week of live broadcasts from inside a prison.
