Motivational Speakers for the New Year

It’s that time of year again; plummeting into darkness at around midday, eating far too many mince pies and pretending not to be disappointed when you’re forgotten off someone’s Christmas card list… (I’m not bitter… really). Don’t get me wrong I’m not the office Grinch, but it’s around this time of year that I think back to standing (a little worse for wear) with a glass of champagne welcoming in 2014 with another brand new resolution. Then I realise that by the 5th of January I had already concocted at least 10 reasons why I wouldn’t succeed and why I should just give up, there and then. So I turn to my trusty JLA index in the hopes that our motivational speakers will shed some light on how to make 2015 a more successful year. I hope these motivational speakers will inspire you too…

Karren Brady-

Karren Brady, the witty and wise business woman is known for her ability to evaluate the risks effectively and reap the rewards. Her story starts with what may have seemed like a mad idea as a 23 year old and takes us through her secrets to becoming one of the most influential business people in the UK. The secret recipe? Determination, enthusiasm and a clear team strategy.

Martina Navratilova-

Martina’s story cannot fail to inspire! Her name is inked in the sporting book of legends (alongside Brain O’Driscoll’s- I’m sorry I’m not over the last Lion’s game). Listening to Martina speak about winning and losing both on and off the court makes you realise the unwarranted significance we put on our own self-imposed limitations.

Simon Wheatcroft-

Now then running is one thing that I have stuck to this year, but Simon quite puts my (reluctant) efforts to shame with his tale of adventures. Simon talks about stepping out of your comfort zone and pushing yourself to the limits- till you can literally no longer stand and someone has to come pick you up from the side of the road…

Each of these motivational speakers have different backgrounds and interests, each have different goals but one thing they all have in common is their sheer stubbornness. It’s about aggressive goal setting, pushing yourself to your limits and having some incredible nerve! Well I guess I better take Karren’s advice and draw up my vision and strategy for the year ahead. I will enter it with determination, enthusiasm and not one excuse in sight. I challenge you or your business to do the same and learn from these motivational speakers. Check back in with me early January- to make sure I’m still going!
