Motivational Speakers: an antidote to the World Cup

Everyone loves football. Football, football, football. And everyone loves Russia. Russia, Russia, Russia. So this summer’s World Cup really is a marriage of two paragons of virtue. But, and I say this in hushed tones, what if you don’t like football or Russia? A crazy idea I know, but if you think the whole thing stinks of greed and corruption then perhaps you might need motivating. And what better way to get motivated than by booking a motivational speaker? Not just any motivational speaker, but a motivational speaker who has absolutely nothing to do with football, or Russia.

So, in no particular order, here are five motivational speakers with absolutely no affiliation to the beautiful game:

Carlos Acosta

If football has an opposite then ballet might very well be it. Carlos is considered one of the greatest ballet dancers of all time, and the fact he comes from such humble beginnings makes his story all the more compelling.

Mandy Hickson

One of the first female fighter pilots to serve on the front line, Mandy is one of the most polished motivational speakers out there. The high-pressure environment Mandy worked in makes taking a penalty in front of several thousand fans seem positively serene by comparison.

Maggie Aderin-Pocock

The BBC’s Face of Space is one of JLA’s most requested motivational speakers. She can talk about women in STEM, science in education, and of course the mesmerising topic of space itself. She won’t talk about football.

Martin Elliott

One of the leading paediatric surgeons in the country and former Co-Medial Director and Great Ormond Street Hospital, Martin is inspiring on job title alone. The vast array of industries Martin has studied in order to bring best practice to his operating theatre makes him endlessly fascinating to listen to.

Hannah Fry

The maths and science broadcaster is increasingly popular on our TV screens. As motivational speakers go she’s one of the most interesting out there. It’s a rare skill to make maths so accessible and appealing, but Hannah does so with ease. Whilst others are screaming at grown men for misplacing a pass, you could be learning about fluid dynamics and the joy of data.

If you’d like to learn more about the above motivational speakers then please speak to your JLA account manager or contact us here and they’ll be delighted to help. If they’re not watching the football, of course.
