Biography

Dr Shola Mos-Shogbamimu is an advocate for social change, who campaigns for human rights and champions social justice. With extensive academic and legal expertise, Shola challenges systems of oppression, emphasising the intersectionality of gender and race. As a speaker, Shola addresses audiences on topics of DEI, leadership, women in business, and workplace culture. She has spoken with organisations including The United Nations.

Born in East-London, Shola’s passion for justice and equality was ignited from an early age. Her relentless pursuit of knowledge and desire to effect positive change led her to excel academically. Her qualifications include PhD (Birkbeck), MBA (Cambridge), LLM (LSE), MA (University of Westminster), LLB (University of Buckingham), and IAQ.

Shola holds qualifications as a New York Attorney and Solicitor of England and Wales with broad expertise in the financial services industry. Her academic and legal background enables her to challenge discriminatory practices, advocate for policy reform, and provide valuable insights into the intricate workings of the law and how it can be harnessed to drive positive change.

Shola’s insights have been shared through her book, This Is Why I Resist, and in articles for media outlets including The Times, The Independent, and CNN. She also makes regular TV appearances on CNN, BBC, ITV, and Channel 4. She is the Founder and Editor of Women in Leadership Publication, delivering exclusive content from trailblazing women around the world and serving as a platform to inspire, advise and educate women to succeed in both life and work.

Beyond her spoken and written work, Shola actively contributes to the empowerment of women and serves on L’Oréal’s Women Advisory Board. As a trustee for Reprieve UK, she supports its use of strategic interventions to advocate against the death penalty and human rights abuses. She has co-organised women’s marches and continues to actively support social campaigns for women.
