Former City Editor of The Standard, Anthony has won the World Economic Forum’s most prestigious press award. He offers an instant analysis of the indicators, and the challenges facing business leaders. With the oil price fall, an entrepreneurial boom and access to pension pots, Anthony believes that conditions exist for a long period of UK growth, while he views the ‘Brexit’ as an ill-conceived and unnecessary leap into the unknown.
Anthony Hilton was Financial Editor of the Evening Standard and now serves as the paper’s Senior Commentator, and had the same role at The Independent. An author, broadcaster, lecturer, and a Wincott Financial Journalist of the Year. Anthony has also served as a non-executive Director of insurance and publishing companies.
Joining Fleet Street as a trainee on the Guardian, Anthony served in New York as Business Correspondent for the London Sunday Times and City Editor of The Times before joining the Standard.
Anthony makes regular television and radio appearances, commenting on the international money markets and the state of the economy. He also assesses the outlook for investments, the pensions crisis and corporate governance.
