January always heralds the same thing: living more simply and indulging less after Christmas. While no bad thing, inspiration is sometimes required; why not then take a look at some of our nationally acclaimed and chef celebrity speakers? They’re here to bring a bit of excitement back to your palette, challenge you to unpack your Christmas knife set, and take up a new hobby in the kitchen.
Have a look below at some of my favourites, ready to charm you though demonstrations and answer all the culinary questions you ever had.
Since winning the Great British Bake Off in 2015, Nadiya has become a successful TV chef and author, with multiple cookery books and programs to her name. Self taught, she juggled the competition whilst studying for a degree; her impressive baking skills were recognised and she won the crown along with several million fans. Nadiya’s enthusiasm is completely infectious, and she’s great at making family cooking accessible through her demonstrations.
Nigella has made a name for herself with her luxurious and indulgent cooking. A seasoned broadcaster and author, her dishes are made to say yum to. She encourages her audience to experiment and not worry about breaking the food rules, but to enjoy the fun of cooking and seeing what you end up with! Endorsing creativity, she has an utterly relaxed style that exudes through into conversation. If Nigella can’t inject a little excitement back into the kitchen, no one can, and she’s absolutely one celebrity guest chef I’d invite to my dinner party (and hope to convince to do the cooking).
Head Chef at Le Gavroche, Michel Roux Jr took over the family restaurant and has worked his way up in the Gastro Empire. Trained in the army and as an apprentice to the business, he learnt the importance of hard work by not being allowed to just walk in to the famous restaurant. Now he has two Michelin stars and is one of the most renowned chefs in London.
Monica has become one of the most well known chefs in the UK. Not only is she a judge on Masterchef: The Professionals, she also has her own restaurant Mere, which opened in early 2017. Extremely well reviewed, Monica has become a highly respected chef in her own right, having worked as Michel Roux Jr’s sous chef at Le Gavroche for a decade. She’s also gone on to do more television, co-presenting a program on hotels around the world with Giles Coren – her dry humour and professional style make for a great combination.
Mary Berry is one of those treasures the nation has fully adopted as one of their favourites. With over 70 published books, she’s one of the chef celebrity speakers present in millions of homes across the country. It’s only relatively recently in her career that she appeared as judge on the Great British Bake Off, and became famous to a new generation for her diplomatic approach to even the soggiest of sponge cakes.
These are just a handful of the people we work with at JLA speaker bureau. If you would like to know more about any of the names featured, or if you need any further suggestions, please contact us
