Fabian Zuleeg

Fee Band

Fabian works closely with decision makers across the European institutions. He is responsible for the EPC’s research on the digital single market, labour, health, energy and environment issues. He also considers the EU’s perfect storm, struggling to maintain its economic and social model, and with Eurosceptic parties looking to increase their support in many nations, taking encouragement from the UK’s exit.

Biography

As Chief Executive of the European Policy Centre (EPC), Fabian provides the organisation with strategic direction and public representation, as well as holding the post of Chief Economist. He works closely with decision-makers across various European institutions, on labour issues, energy and the environment, and the Political Economy Programme.

Fabian previously worked for DTZ a property service company, and was Economic Advisor to the Scottish Executive. He also worked in academia and advised public and private sector organisations. He now focused on a wide range of European issues covering the single market, labour, Eurozone governance, the EU budget and digitalisation. Having studied in Scotland, he also has a experience in analysing the process and effects of the UK exit from the EU and has been appointed to the Standing Council on Europe, established by Scotland’s First Minister, Nicola Sturgeon.

Widely published on European social and economic matters, Fabian looks at the problems ahead for the EU, including the rise of various Eurosceptic parties across the continent and the increasing disparity between countries. He is also a member of the University of Warwick’s European Advisory Board, the CIPFA Governments Faculty Board and the DIGITALEUROPE Brexit Advisory Council, as well as sitting on the Advisory Board of the Scottish Centre on European Relations (SCER).
