Moyet went from punk, to electropop with Yazoo, through soulful albums as a solo artist to West End success in Chicago. Her hits range from Only You and Don’t Go To That Ole Devil Called Love. After her recent tour Alison performs with the full band or to playback.

Biography

Alison Moyet's exceptional voice first came to the world's attention as one half of Yazoo, the synth-pop duo she founded in 1981 with former Depeche Mode keyboard player Vince Clarke. Their sound redefined dance music, blending cutting-edge electronica with soulful vocals.

After a string of hits Alison began working as a solo artist. She found success on both sides of the Atlantic with classic tracks like All Cried Out and Love Resurrection. She twice received a Brit Award for Best British Female Solo Artist, and appeared with Paul Young at Live Aid.

Alison’s long string of albums has showcased a huge vocal variety - from soul and ballads to raw rock and even gospel. Her career has seen her work with a diverse range of talents, from James Brown to the Lightning Seeds.

After several years out of the spotlight, Alison made her acting debut in the hit musical Chicago alongside Denise Van Outen. Buoyed by her West End run she returned to music full time. 2010 sees a major UK tour with Jools Holland and his Rhythm & Blues Orchestra. She performs live with a full big band line up, or to playback.
